Oblique Theorem is a digital dance and sound collaboration between
myself, Jung In Jung, and Tamsyn Russell. The sound is programmed
in MAX/MSP to be triggered and manipulated via movement using
three Gametrak controllers. Each Gametrak has wires which can be
extended and the sound is designed to change depending on the
length and direction of the wires.
The short film below was made by Lucas Kao and has been selected
for screenings at Sonica, CCA Glasgow 2012 and Let’s Dance Festival
2013 and ,VIII São Carlos Videodance Festival 2014.
This work was originally a commission for NEON Digital Art Festival
Dundee 2011. Inspired by Steampunk we worked with digital
composer Matt Collings. The piece was later performed at Inspace,
2012 with dancer Emma Snellgrove.
